In this course, we discuss recent texts by four internationally renowned researchers with innovative agendas and hear them present on their research. We meet every week, so participants can present on their MA thesis, and work on their skills concerning time management, empirical methods, scientific writing etc., according to their needs.

The talks are scheduled as follows:

  • May 31:  Kaius Sinnemäki, "New comparative methodology for researching language change in contact ecologies
  • June 14: Jens Hopperdietzel, "Talmy's typology in serializing languages: Variations on a VP"
  • June 28: Antoinette Schapper, "Language History in New Guinea: What we know and how to know more."
  • July 12: Annemarie Verkerk (tba, something on universals)
