Übung zur VL Philosophy of Intelligence 2023

In this exercise, we will deepen our understanding of the topics covered in the lecture through critical discussions of primary literature.

Students will analyze different conceptions of intelligence, evaluate various cognitive models, and explore their strengths and limitations. Special emphasis will be placed on comparing connectionist models with classical symbol- and rule-based approaches. Through a closer study of seminal theses by pertinent authors, participants will be introduced to the enterprise and development of cognitive science, theory building and cognitive modeling. Additionally, we will discuss ethical issues related to AI development and implementation, applying ethical theories to real-world examples.

Active participation is encouraged, as the exercises are designed to foster critical thinking and a deeper engagement with the subject matter of the lecture.
