The morphosyntax of Kinyarwanda

In this course, we will explore the morphology and syntax of Kinyarwanda.  We will specifically explore the nominal and verbal morphology of Kinyarwanda in some details.  We will also discuss different word formation techniques in Kinyarwanda. Tense, aspect and mood will also be discussed using the data created by the teacher from scratch. Last but not least, the syntax of Kinyarwanda will be discussed. In this subsection, the word order and the information structure in the Kinyarwanda language will be explored. We will also use the audio data collected by the teacher to introduce ELAN and how it is used to annotate, transcribe and gloss Kinyarwanda (and any other language) speech data.
