Advanced Natural Language Processing with Python

This class covers advanced programming concepts and their implementation in Python. The class is mostly focused on practical issues and is aimed at the following groups:

• Students who have successfully completed the introduction to programming in computational linguistics with Python and are looking to deepen their programming skills.
• Students who are in the process of preparing for a bachelor’s thesis that includes practical programming tasks or an internship.
• Students who are interested in pursuing a master’s degree in computational linguistics or a related field.
• Students who want to refresh their Python skills or fill existing gaps in their knowledge.

This class builds upon the topics of the introductory class. You can find all materials from the latest instalment of that class here (in German).

We will be meeting online for synchronous lectures and supervised lab sessions. To earn a Beteiligungsnachweis (passing grade), you will be completing practical assignments throughout the semester. The optional Abschlussprüfung (graded exam) will take the shape of a practical project with a written report.
