Informationsstruktur

This course introduces notions of information structure such as topic and focus and their various ralizations in the modules of grammar ranging from syntax to prosody. Data will be drawn from a number of unrelated languages. Prerequisite: Introduction to linguistics. BN requirements: weekly reading (~15-20 pages) and exercise homeworks (1-2 hours x4). AP requirements: presentation+paper. Materials: selected papers will be available online.
