Current topics in general linguistics

This is a MA seminar doubling as MoSy colloquium. Throughout the class, we discuss four topics, focusing on articles by four invited speakers:

1. November 8: Uta Reinöhl. Word class flexibility and constructionhood
2. November 22: Jenneke van der Wal: The RANDOM generalisation in Bantu
3. Dezember 13: Alena Witzlack, Designing typological databases
4. Januar 17: Stefan Schnell, Universals of reference in discourse and grammar

The four talks are distributed evenly over the semester, leaving room for discussion before and after. At the same time, MA students who want to present on their thesis, are welcome to do so.
