1. Update auf Version 3.9.18

Am Freitag den 30.12.2022 wird gegen 23:00 das Moodle System auf die Version 3.9.18 aktualisiert. Eine Ausfallzeit von ca. 3 Stunden ist zu erwarten.

2. Aktualisierung von Plugins

Parallel zum Update der Moodle-Version werden auch einige Plugins, darunter XP, H5P, Gruppenwahl und Echtzeit-Befragung aktualisiert.

3. Anpassung der Anmeldung via Unikennung

Bisher wurde bei der Anmeldung via Unikennung überprüft, ob die E-Mail-Adresse des Universität-Accounts bei Moodle einen aktiven Account hat, um eine Anmeldung via Unikennung zu ermöglichen. Dies führte in einigen Fällen, z.B. bei einem Wechsel der primären Uni-Mail, zu Fehlern, wodurch sich Studierende nicht mehr einloggen konnten („Fehler beim Schreiben in die Datenbank“). Ab der kommenden Woche wird beim Login nun die Unikennung überprüft, wodurch diese Login-Fehler nicht mehr auftreten sollten.

Sollten Sie bereits einen Account unter Ihrer Uni-Mail sowie unter einem anderen Benutzernamen, als Ihre Unikennung, in Moodle haben, verwenden Sie bitte weiterhin den allgemeinen Login oben rechts oder wenden Sie sich an moodle_admin@hhu.de

Die alte Anleitung inklusive des Videos auf der Startseite wird dann auch nicht mehr verfügbar sein, da sie nicht mehr erforderlich ist.

Zusätzlich wird im Januar von Seiten des ZIM ein Update an dem genutzten Anmeldedienst „Schibboleth“ durchgeführt, ggf. wird es hierdurch für einen kurzen Zeitraum nicht möglich sein, sich in Moodle anzumelden.

4. Wechsel des Supports zum IKM

Durch die anstehende Re-Akkreditierung des Studienangebots der Fakultät sowie der in der näheren Zukunft bevorstehenden Umstellung des Campus Managements auf ein neues Portal (HISinOne) werden die Kapazitäten im Studiendekanat vermehrt auf diese zentralen Aufgaben verteilt. Ich selbst werde hierbei sowohl zunächst weiterhin die aktuelle Campus Management-Stelle vertreten als auch ab Januar aktiv am Modellierungsprozess unserer Studiengänge in dem neuen System arbeiten und diene unter anderem als Ansprechpartner für die Philosophische Fakultät im HISinOne EXA Projekt.

Damit geht der Support für das Moodle LMS-System wieder zurück in das IKM. Hier werden vor allem die technisch notwendigen Updates der Moodle-Versionen sowie der Plugins gesteuert. Zudem werden vom IKM auch die erforderlichen Kursanfragen bearbeitet. Der aktive Betrieb der Plattform wird so sichergestellt. Eine aktive Weiterentwicklung von unserem Fakultäts-Moodle findet jedoch erstmal nicht weiter statt. Sowohl technische als auch inhaltliche Supportanfragen werden ab Januar wieder im IKM bearbeitet.

5. Aktualisierung der Datenschutzerklärung

Anfang 2023 werden wir die Datenschutzerklärungen inkl. Bestimmungen und Nutzungsbedingungen aktualisieren. Ab dann wird es nur noch erforderlich sein, beim erstmaligen Anmelden via Unikennung, die Nutzungsbedingungen zu bestätigen. Die neue Datenschutzerklärung basiert auf der notwenigen Nutzung für den Betrieb der Universität und wird auf jeder Seite in Moodle unten über einen Link aufrufbar sein.
Wichtig: Alle Accounts müssen nach dieser Änderung erneut den Nutzungsbedingungen zustimmen!

1. Update to version 3.9.18

On Friday the 30.12.2022 around 23:00 the Moodle system will be updated to version 3.9.18. Downtime of approximately 3 hours is expected.

2. Update of plugins

In parallel with the update of the Moodle version, some plugins will be updated, including XP, H5P, group voting and real-time polling.

3. Adjustment of the “login via university-id” method

Previously, when logging in via your university-id, a check was made to see if the university email address had an active account in Moodle to allow logging in. This led to errors in some cases, e.g. a change of the primary university mail, which prevented students from logging in ("error writing to database"). Starting next week, the university-id will now be checked when logging in, which should mean that these login errors will no longer occur.

However, if you already have an account under your university mail and a different username in Moodle (other than university id), please continue to use the general login at the top right or contact moodle_admin@hhu.de

The old instructions (including the video) on the home page of moodle will also no longer be available from then on, as it is no longer required.

In addition, ZIM will update the login service "Shibboleth" in January, so it may not be possible to log in to Moodle for a short period of time.

4. Change of the support to IKM services

Due to the upcoming re-accreditation of the faculty's study programs, as well as the upcoming changeover of the Campus Management to a new portal (HISinOne), the capacities in the Dean of Studies Office will be increasingly distributed to these central tasks. I myself will initially continue to represent the current Campus Management position, as well as actively work on the modeling process of our degree programs for the new system starting in January and serve, among other things, as the contact person for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the HISinOne EXA project.

This means that support for the Moodle LMS system will return to the IKM. Here, especially the technically necessary updates of the Moodle versions as well as the plugins are controlled, and the necessary course requests are processed. This ensures the active operation of the platform. However, an active further development of our faculty Moodle will not take place for the time being. Both technical and content support requests will be handled by the IKM starting in January.

5. Update of the privacy policy

At the beginning of 2023, we will update the privacy policy including terms and conditions of use. From then on, it will only be necessary to confirm the terms of use when logging in via university id for the first time. The new privacy policy is based on the necessary usage for the operation of the university and will be available on every page in Moodle via a link at the bottom.

Important: All accounts must agree to the terms of use again after this change!
