Liebe Moodle Nutzer*innen,
die vorlesungsfreie Zeit nähert sich dem Ende und wie vor 2 Monaten angekündigt steht noch ein Moodle Update an:

1. Update auf Version 3.9.13
Am Donnerstag den 31.03.2022 werden wir gegen 23:00 das Moodle System auf die Moodle Version 3.9.13 updaten. Wir erwarten eine Ausfallzeit von ca. 3 Stunden.
2. Bug im Collapsed Topics Plugin
Durch einen Bug im Collapsed Topics Plugin ist es dazu gekommen, dass dieses nicht als Option bei den Kursformaten aufgetaucht ist. Nach dem Update auf Version 3.9.13 sollte nun es nun die Option „Komprimierte Abschnitte“ bei den Kursformaten geben.
3. Aktualisierung von Plugins
Parallel zum Update der Moodle Version, aktualisieren wir auch einige Plugins, darunter H5P, Questionnaire und CodeRunner.
4. Archivieren von Kursen
Von nun an werden am Ende jedes Semesters Kurse die älter als 6 Semester automatisch archiviert und dann vom System gelöscht. Sie werden vorher vom System via E-Mail informiert und können dann einmalig eine Verlängerung von 6 Monaten aktiveren. Setzen Sie sich dann im Anschluss bitte mit der Moodle Administration in Verbindung, um zu klären was wir für Ihren Kurs tun können. Kurse die in Semesterübergreifenden Kategorien liegen sind hiervon nicht betroffen.
5. Mehrsprachiger Inhalt
Nach dem Update auf Version 3.9.13 vereinfachen wir erneut das Einpflegen von mehrsprachigem Inhalt. Sie sollten dann direkt im Texteditor über ein Drop-Down Menü die jeweils gewählte Sprache auswählen und dann den Text anpassen können.
6. Wegfall des BigBlueButton Plugins
Wir haben uns dazu entschieden die BigBlueButton Lizenz auf Grund von zu geringen
Nutzungszahlen nicht zu verlängern und damit auch das Moodle Plugin mit dem
Patch am Donnerstag wieder zu entfernen.
7. Block: Level up!
Mit dem Update auf Version 3.9.13 führen wir den Block „Level up!“ Moodle hinzu. Mit diesem ist es Möglich Gamification Elemente Ihrem Kurs hinzuzufügen. Dieser Block wird jedoch, aus unterschiedlichen Gründen, nicht generell jedem Kurs zur Verfügung stehen, sondern muss bei der Moodle Administration angefragt werden.
8. Echtzeit Befragung
Mit dem Update auf Version 3.9.13 fügen wir eine Aktivität dem System hinzu, mit dem es möglich ist Befragungen/Stimmungsbilder/Tests in Echtzeit durchzuführen.
9. Neuer Fragetyp: Formulas question
Mit dem Update auf Version 3.9.13 wird es einen neuen Fragetyp für die Quiz Aktivität (Klausuren) geben. Mit diesem ist es zum einen möglich mathematische Aufgaben mit Abweichungen, als auch Fragen mit mehreren zusammenhängenden Antwortfeldern (z.B. Matrizen) zu stellen.
10. Änderung zum Virtual Programming Lab
Von nun an steht die Aktivität „Virtual Programming Lab“ nicht mehr jedem Kurs zur Verfügung, sondern muss bei der Moodle Administration beantragt werden.
Hinweis: Wir verwenden VPL in der Basiskonfiguration ohne eigenen Jail Server.
11. Anpassung unsichtbarer Elemente
Von nun an werden unsichtbare/verborgene Elemente für Trainer*innen in einem niedrigeren Kontrast angezeigt, um zu vermeiden, dass ungewollt die falschen Elemente bearbeitet werden.

Moodle Announcement - February&March 2022
Dear Moodle users,
the lecture-free period is coming to an end and as announced 2 months ago we are going to update Moodle:
- Update to version 3.9.13

1. Update to version 3.9.13
On Thursday the 31.03.2022 from 23:00 on, we will update the Moodle system to Moodle version 3.9.13. We expect a downtime of about 3 hours.
2. Bug in Collapsed Topics plugin
Due to a bug in the Collapsed Topics plugin, it did not show up as an option in the course formats. After updating to version 3.9.13 there should now be the option "Collapsed Topics" in the course formats.
3. Update of plugins
Parallel with the Moodle version update, we are also updating some plugins, including H5P, Questionnaire and CodeRunner.
4. Archiving of courses
From now on, at the end of each semester, courses older than 6 semesters will be automatically archived and then deleted from the system. You will be informed beforehand by the system via e-mail and can then activate a one-time extension of 6 months. Please contact the Moodle Administration to find out what we can do for your course. Courses that are in cross-semester categories are not affected by this.
5. Multilingual content
After the update to version 3.9.13, we will again simplify the process of adding multilingual content. You should then be able to select the selected language directly in the text editor via a drop-down menu and then adjust the text.
6. Deletion of the BigBlueButton plugin
We have decided to not renew the BigBlueButton license due to low usage and therefore to remove the Moodle plugin with the patch on Thursday.
7. Block: Level up!
With the update to version 3.9.13 we are introducing the block "Level up!" Moodle. With this it is possible to add gamification elements to your course. However, for various reasons, this block will not be generally available to every course, but must be requested from the Moodle administration.
8. Real time survey
With the update to version 3.9.13, we are adding an activity to the system that makes it possible to conduct surveys/moods/testing in real time.
9. New question type: Formulas question
With the update to version 3.9.13 there will be a new question type for the quiz activity (exams). With this it is possible to ask mathematical tasks with deviations as well as questions with several connected answer fields (e.g. matrices).
10. Change to Virtual Programming Lab
From now on the activity "Virtual Programming Lab" is no longer available to every course, but has to be requested from Moodle Administration.
Note: We use VPL in the base configuration without our own jail server.
11. Customization of invisible elements
From now on, invisible/hidden elements will be displayed in a lower contrast for trainers, to avoid unintentionally editing of the wrong elements.
